The Truth About Cancer
By Gary Rheinheimer
In September 2024 we were at a dinner with some friends of ours and learned the husband was having what the doctor thought was Gall Bladder issues. Soon after he had a CT scan and there were spots on his pancreas, liver and lungs, Stage 4 cancer. Seven weeks later he passed away. No time to do chemo or treat the cancer. It happened so fast at the end he was only hoping his family and friends could get there in time to see him. He had always been a strong man and rarely sick, this was overwhelming to the family.
I also experienced cancer. In 2020 I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma lung cancer right in the middle of covid. Since my cancer was in stage 1, I only had the lower right lob removed and did not need chemotherapy. After surgery I was in a room next to a covid patient, and you could hear the person coughing and coughing. So, not only was I dealing with the results of lung surgery I was concerned about acquiring covid. Thankfully I did not get covid, but the recovery was painful.
Cancer is one of those diseases that is devastating. The death of an individual takes that person’s life and leaves a hole in a family. And even if the cancer is stage 1 and treatable, it changes the way you think. You always wonder if the pain you have, is cancer, or whether the next CT scan will show the cancer has returned.
Cancer is an insidious process where normal body cells begin to multiply unusually through a variety of channels. These cells can invade surrounding tissue and spread throughout the body. There is a wide scope of things that alter a cell’s genetic code and trigger cells to multiply. They can be from chemical (e.g. asbestos) to biological (e.g. genetics), in my case the trigger is unknown. If left unchecked they can spread to other organs interfering with the normal body processes. Eventually organs decline with the death of tissues and in the end the death of the individual, as with my friend.
So why does cancer exist? The world we live in is full of terrible things. Besides cancer there are a raft of other diseases that cause pain and death. Evolutionary theory would agree with this process of death. Those organisms with less favorable traits do not survive, while those with the most adaptable mutations do. Those traits get passed on to the next generation and accumulate over time to make a more advanced organism.
However, it takes a substantial number of beneficial mutations to get passed along to make any progression to a new species. But in reality, all individual point mutations “reduce the genetic information and not to increase it” 1 and are not beneficial in forming a new organism. Most mutations are harmful, causing suffering and death. Some mutations are neutral and have no impact. The fact is if there are no beneficial traits to pass on to future generations, how did we get the verity of creatures we see today? And it could not have helped my friend that died of cancer, or even benefited him or I?
In God’s realm cancer should not exist. If God is “good” then diseases do not make sense. A good God would not allow evil in the His world. Either God is not good, or He cannot prevent evil, or he does not exist. In an analysis of Biblical scriptures, some answers can be discovered. We find stated in the Bible that “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.” Genesis 1 verse 31 (ESV, English Standard Version of the Bible). So, if everything was very good where did cancer come from?
God created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. They had no disease or sickness or even cancer. They were perfectly healthy. God placed them in the good and beautiful place called The Garden of Eden. In this garden God planted the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” and God had only one requirement, not eat of this tree.
For God said in Genesis 2:17 “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (ESV).
But Adam and Eve disobeyed and ate from the tree. Because of this disobedience (sin) God cursed Adam, Eve and the earth.
Genesis 3:16 To the woman he (God) said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children” (ESV).
Genesis 3:17-19 And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your face, you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (ESV).
So, the ground was cursed and thereby the means by which Adam would get food. Adam would eventually physically die. This death process passed through generations and lead to diseases like cancer causing the deaths of all people who live on the earth. Life is terminal and no one escapes death. The Bible says in the book of 1st Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die” (ESV) and in Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned (ESV). We all have Adam’s spiritual genes because we are all his descendants.
However, God did not leave us in Adams condemnation and spiritual genes but provided a way to have life restored to us. Roman 5:17 states “If, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one-man Jesus Christ.” (ESV). Jesus, God’s son came to earth, lived a sinless life, was falsely accused of a crime, was crucified and died on a Roman cross and placed into a tomb. But rose from the dead after 3 days showing His victory over death and sin. Providing a way for the descendants of Adam to be restored to God.
John 3 verses 16 & 17 say “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (ESV). It is a free gift, and God offers to us if we come to Him.
In Romans chapter 10 verses 9 & 10 it says “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” If we confess our sins to God and by faith believe what He has done, He will forgive us and take us to heaven when we die.
Cancer may someday take my physical life but because of the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead I have spiritual life, that only God can provide, and I will go to be with Him.
- L. Spetner, Not by Chance (New York: Judaica Press, 1997), p. 138., “All point mutations that have been studied on the molecular level turn out to reduce the genetic information and not to increase it.”

Article 2: Guns are not the Problem, It’s the Human Heart
By Gary Rheinheimer
A gun has no mind of its own or emotions, no hands to aim or finger to pull a trigger. It is an inanimate object that does not move by itself. Unless a person with a mind, hands and finger choose to use as a weapon to harm someone else. A person without moral convictions to control their mind, hands, and fingers. A person whose heart has been deceived by a world that disavows the existence of God. Whose fundamental teaching is the lie of atheistic evolution that there are no differences between people and animals. That there is no soul of man nor responsibility to God. So why are we surprised when people kill people with inanimate guns, when anger, rage and jealousy control their hearts. We are only animals. Life ends at death. There is no God to answer to, no heaven or hell, no eternal consequence for one’s actions.
We have had guns for hundreds of years. However, it is the lack of Godly morality that they have been responsible for mass killings in the past (Adolf Hitler [World War 2], Joseph Stalin [Russia], Mao Zedong [China]). As Godly morality drains from the coffers of American hearts the rate of violent acts has increased. Since Columbine (1999) there have been more than 300 school shootings. People killing people because the love of God has vanished, and the respect for people is gone. The Judeo-Christian ethic, once the basis for American morality, has become almost extinct from the culture. Individualism has taken root and one’s own selfish and prideful desires are intrenched in the heart.
Do not be deceived there is a Creator God who made the universe and everything in it, including you. Therefore, you are ultimately responsible to God and must answer to Him at an appointed time. You are not grown-up pond scum from some evolutionary process through millions of years. You were designed and made by Him for His designed purpose. Therefore, you are loved by Him, and He desires for you to come to him. He has given you His Word the Bible so that you may know Him.
God created mankind as perfect and placed them into a beautifully created world with full communion between him and his Creator. However, the first man Adam disobeyed God and brought a curse on himself and the world. God drove Adam and his wife Eve out of His presence and the communion and fellowship was broken. The cost of the disobedience was death. In the process of time Adam died but the curse has been passed to Adams descendants. You and me. This is why evil is in the world because man rebelled against God.
God still loves mankind despite his disobedience and sin. So, God provided a means to restore the broken communion and fellowship. God the Father sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to be born of a woman and live as a man. Jesus lived a perfect life of love and compassion but was rejected by the religious rulers because He did not fit their preconceived and prideful standards. They delivered Him to be crucified and killed on a cross. But this was God’s design to pay the penalty for the sin and disobedience that started with Adam and continued through all mankind. Everyone deserves this death, but God provided a way to pay the debt that we owe, through the death of Jesus on the cross.
But this is not the whole story. Jesus did not stay dead. He rose from the dead on the first Easter showing His victory over death. He is not a dead savior but a living one who freely offers the forgiveness of sins and cleansing of the curse from our hearts.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 2:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Article 3: DNA and Who You Are (Why You are, Who You Are)
By: Gary Rheinheimer
We are all individuals, uniquely different from anyone else in the world. We are all products of our DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). Your DNA defines every part of your body and influences your emotions and attitudes. This is why we do not have a toenail on our forehead because the DNA tells your toes cells where to grow the nail and is no other place. It is a vastly complex but beautiful process.
Some secularists have claimed that you are a blank slate when born and the only way you become you is what happens in your life. You are a product of your circumstances. However, research has found, built into your DNA, there are vast amounts of characteristics already pre-determined. However, there are some variations between people and individuals. That is why facial recognition works because we are all different. We all have ancestors from which we get our copy of DNA. There is a lot of confusion about where the human race came from.
We have been taught that our distant ancestors came from Africa, and through an evolutionary process, nonhuman apes became modern people. This process used mutation to add greater complexity and information to the DNA and therefore additional characteristics over millions of years the first human evolved and multiplied, developed the use of tools and finally became the people we are today.
The Bible says, God created Adam and Eve with the original human DNA blueprint with enough variation to allow for different physical features. Noah was a descendant of Adam and Eve having the same basic DNA. When God destroyed all people because of their sin except Noah and his family during the flood of his day, Noah’s descendants carried the same DNA that came from Noah and his wife.
The truth is that all humans have the same DNA with very small modification between individuals. There are a wide variety of people in the world but where did they all come from and how did the “races” originate. The origin of the “races” can be a difficult question.
However, the Bible gives us the answer. All people on earth are descendants of Noah and therefore to one degree we are all cousins of each other. Men and women from all parts of the earth and all people groups can marry and have children.
After the flood of Noah’s day all the people were one group and had one language. At the time of the Tower of Babel, God confused the single language into many languages so that people would spread over the earth. People with the same language migrated together and isolated themselves. This allowed small variations in the DNA to be emphasized in that group. Therefore, people in Africa developed dark skin. And People in Europe developed light skin. In the same way other skin colors, eye shapes, facial features, and hair variation came about. However, this did not change that we are all humans of the same DNA line and therefore all cousins.
There has been so much perpetrated on people throughout history based on the idea of race. Differences in people groups, the sin in men’s hearts, and later prompted by evolution ideas led to much evil in the past. Hitler claimed that the Aryan (Favored) race was superior, killed 6 million Jews and others who were not determined to be not from that race. During the 17thand 18th centuries, many from the Africain people group, were forcibly removed from their homes and made to become slaves in Europe and America. All because they looked different, were deemed to be of a lower-class race and therefore had no value other than property.
However, we are all cousins of the same race. Our existence is dependent on the DNA from our ancestors. If our ancestors were not at a specific time and place, our grandparents would not have been born. Therefore, our parents would not have been born and as a result the DNA they gave to you would not have come into existence, and therefore you would not have been born. Furthermore, of the millions of sperm available to make you, there was only one that fertilized the egg. You are unique no one else has the exact DNA you have. Therefore, you could not have been born somewhere else in the world and nobody has your exact DNA.
The Bible says in Psalm 139 verse 4 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (ESV). God made you who you are. You are special because God guided the process and made you specifically who he wanted you to be.
Because we live in a sinful world bad things happen, diseases occur, our bodies waste away, and we die. We are not in control of what happens in our world, but God is the master of the Universe, He knows the beginning and the end, and He sees your troubles. Because we live in a sinful world, you are a sinner before God and cannot come into His presence, but despite your sin God still loves you and you are highly valued. In the Bible the book of John chapter 3 verses 16 & 17 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (ESV). In these verses the word “world” can be applied to you individually. Jesus God’s son came into the world, lived a sinless life, died on a cross and rose from the dead for you. If you come to God and ask his forgiveness He will remove our sin through the work Jesus His Son. Article 4: Dinosaurs in Real History
By Gary Rheinheimer
Dinosaurs, creatures of great fascination for children and while not in the forefront of older people’s minds, they hold a significant importance to understanding truth. The secular world teaches truth is relative and dependent on what is needed at any given time. However, is that accurate? Is it truth in relation to dinosaurs? We have their fossils so we know dinosaurs existed but how much do we know about how and when they came into exitance, how they lived and how they died. There are two views about dinosaurs, both are discussed below.
View 1: The Secular View
First: Age of the Earth:
Secularist scientists believe that the earth is 4.54 ± 0.05 billion years1 old. “The physical process of radioactive decay has provided Earth scientists, anthropologists, and evolutionary biologists with their most important method for determining the absolute age of rocks and other materials” 2.
Second: What is the origin of dinosaurs?
Life on earth is the result of evolutionary processes including dinosaurs were the result of evolutionary processes over billions of years. “The first life is believed to be detected in rock that is 3.7 billion years old”3. “The earliest-known dinosaur fossils date to roughly 230 million years ago, including Eoraptor and Herrerasaurus from Argentina, Saturnalia from southern Brazil and Mbiresaurus from Zimbabwe. While sharing certain traits defining them as dinosaurs, they had sufficient differences that suggest millions of years of dinosaur evolution had already occurred.”4
Third: What happened to the dinosaurs?
“66 million years ago, over a relatively short time, dinosaurs disappeared completely (except for birds). Many other animals also died out, including pterosaurs, large marine reptiles, and ammonites. The exact nature of this catastrophic event is still open to scientific debate. Evidence suggests an asteroid impact was the main culprit. Volcanic eruptions that caused large-scale climate change may also have been involved, together with more gradual changes to Earth’s climate that happened over millions of years.” 5
Fourth: Where did dinosaur fossils come from?
“Most dinosaur remains disappear without being preserved. Other animals eat or carry them away. If it’s lucky, the dinosaur’s body is quickly buried by sediment. This process can happen in a number of ways. For instance, a river might sweep away a carcass and deposit it in a lake where it sinks to the bottom. Or, a dinosaur could die in a sandstorm and be buried by blown-in sand. Over time, the sediment around the body hardens into rock. This process can take millions of years. In the meantime, the carcass decomposes, leaving behind a cavity in the shape of the dinosaur.”6
Fifth: Are there Dinosaurs in recorded history?
No since dinosaurs died out 66 million years ago, they did not live with people and were not recorded. Birds are the decedents of dinosaurs and are the only living dinosaurs of today.7
View 2: The Biblical View.
What the Bible reveals about dinosaurs and their fossils is not difficult to understand, but some Bible verses are needed, and a little Biblical logic will help.
First: Age of the Earth:
The Bible is complied with timeline indicators like genealogies that when viewed within Biblical contexed indicated the age of the earth. When these markers are compiled the earth’s age is not more than six to ten thousand years old. Radiometric dating methods, however, are based on unprovable scientific assumptions (see Note 1) and are an inaccurate estimation.
Second: What is the origin of dinosaurs?
The Biblical perspective on the origin of dinosaurs would be that an all-powerful God created these majestic creatures as defied in the book of Genesis. Dinosaurs, by definition, are land animals and were created on Day 6 of the Creation Week with other land animals (Genesis 1:24-25, Note 2 a). However, there were flying and swimming dinosaur type creatures that were made on day 5 (Note 2 b) with the birds and fish. The Bible says Adam and Eve (the first 2 people) were also created on Day 6 (Genesis 1:26-28, Note 2 c). Therefore, Biblically, mankind lived with dinosaurs.
Third: What happened to the dinosaurs?
According to Genesis the world was created perfect, but Adam and Eve rebelled against God and He cursed Adam and the world (Genesis Chapter 3). After about 1500 years man’s evil became so great that God determined to destroy life in a great worldwide flood (Genesis chapters 6 to 8). However, Noah was still faithful to God and God told Noah to build an ark to preserve life and repopulate to earth after the flood. The ark was no small boat. It was a large vessel measuring 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet tall and it was made with 3 decks (See Note 2 d). God told Noah to take 2 of every kind (not species) of air breathing land animals and birds on the ark. This would also include every kind of dinosaur. However, Noah would not need to take the large grad-daddy ones. He could take the small young ones after all the ark’s purpose was to repopulate the earth after the flood.
When the flood came every creature in the ark with Noah were safe. The Bible says the flood rose 25 feet above the mountains and all air breathing land animals, birds and people outside the ark died. This included the dinosaurs. After the flood God told Noah to leave the ark and bring out all the animals with him including the beasts of the field which would have included dinosaurs. Though the world was different, it still sustained life and animals including dinosaurs began to repopulate the earth.
Fourth: Where did dinosaur fossils come from?
It takes specific conditions to make fossils. A creature that dies in the forest will not turn into a fossil. Scavengers and the processes of decay will, over a short period of time, consume the remains. To make a fossil the creature or dinosaur would need to be covered quickly with sediment to impede decay. Then minerals would need to replace the bone material to turn the creature into rock. This process would be subject to the concentration on minerals and could be weeks, months or maybe a year depending on the bone size. “Unquestioning belief in vast amounts of time conflicts with so much paleontological evidence that it may be time for scientists to question belief in evolutionary time. Actually, there is a great deal of direct evidence that key fossils, and the rock layers in which they are found, are “only” thousands of years old, not millions.” 8
The great flood would have yielded the processes needed to make fossils. Animals were buried quickly. Dissolved minerals in the flood waters would convert the bones and sediments to rock. And great pressures would have accelerated the fossilization.
Fifth: Are there Dinosaurs in recorded history?
In the Old Testament book of Job chapter 40 verses 15 to 24 refer to a creature called Behemoth. This animal is described as having bones like strong brass and bars of iron, a tail like a cedar tree and his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. Verse 19 says “He is the chief of the ways of God”. Outside of the Bible there are numerous objects that contain depictions of known types of dinosaurs. The ICA stones from Peru9. Rock drawings the southwestern United States10. There are dragon legends from around the world, with many having descriptions resembling dinosaurs11. Birds are not the descendants of dinosaurs. They are not genetically related and were created on separate days.
Sixth: Are there living Dinosaurs?
In the African the countries of Cameroon and the Republic of Congo there is a vast swamp and lakes belonging to the Congo river basin. In that region there is a creature referred to by the natives as Mokele-Mbembe12. Their descriptions match that of an elephant size sauropod dinosaur with a long serpentine neck. There are other reports of dinosaur type creatures from around the world. But we should not be surprised if the great flood was only 4500 years ago. If many other animal kinds survived why not dinosaurs.
Conclusion:
There are two worldviews. One is the secular worldview which is based on man’s ideas about how the world and dinosaurs came into being out of nothing by random naturalistic processes. The other worldview is that God created dinosaurs as He said He did in the Bible, specifically the book of Genesis.
What you believe is important, because if you have doubts about what Genesis says this ultimately undermines the rest of the scriptures. Genesis is foundational to the understanding the sinful nature of mankind as the result of the fall of Adam and Eve, the promise of redemption from the fall, and salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection. All history is dependent on these doctrines. And the eternal destiny of each person is weighing in the balance of this belief.
We all have a belief system. The past cannot be investigated through any scientific method because we were not there. Therefore, beliefs and assumptions must be part of our interpretation of the past. As individuals we cannot know everything, so we must have faith in the knowledge of a person who does. The only one who knows the past and was there is God. All others, at best, are misguided because they do not know about the past either. On the other hand, they are liars deceiving people in a path away from God because they do not want there to be a God to which they are responsible. Do not be deceived God is the author of truth and the Bible gives instruction in truth for all matters including dinosaurs.
Note 1. Radiometric dating methods may be accurate, however they are based on three unprovable scientific assumptions and are therefore not a valid measurement of time.13
1 – They assume that there was only parent material and no daughter material.
2 – There was no parent or daughter added or removed for millions of years.
3 – The decay rate has not changed over time.
Note 2. Relevant Bible verses.
- Creation of birds and swimming creatures:
Genesis 1:20-22 (20) And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” (21) So, God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. (22) And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” (23) And there was evening and morning, the fifth Day.
b. Creation of land animals (including dinosaurs):
Genesis 1:24-26 (24) And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. (25) And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
c. Creation of mankind:
Genesis 1 26-28 (26) Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” (27) So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (28) And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
d. The Flood and the ark
Genesis 6: 13-17 (13) And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (14) Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark and cover it inside and out with pitch. (15) This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits. (16) Make a roof for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks. (17) For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die.
1 Cubit = 18 inches, The average length from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger.

Article 5: Abortion and the Value of Life
By Gary Rheinheimer
One of the observations from the 2024 political process was the focus on abortion rights. One side pushed this to be one of the top agenda items if not the main focus of the campaign. However, abortion is more than a political issue. It is a moral issue. It is a value of life issue. Who determines the value of life? Is it just an individual personal desire or is there a greater standard by which it is measured?
To determine the value of something it must be analyzed to see why it is of value. An antique has value because of its age, condition or origin. We have a China cabinet that has value to us because it belonged to my wife’s grandmother. It may not be in good condition, and we do not know its exact age, but it has value to us because of where it came from. Something has value because someone holds it to be of value.
Abortion holds such a grip on some people because of its value. A woman who finds herself pregnant, and has a life she wants to live, and a baby would interfere with that desire many opt for an abortion. American for many years have been taught and bought into the idea that abortion is OK, it is a personal choice for a woman to be in control of her body. Her focus is on her life and not that of the unborn. When does an unborn have life and becomes of value? Is it only the mother’s desire or is there a higher standard?
From a scientific viewpoint human life comes into existence at fertilization. When the sperm from the father and egg from the mother come together, DNA strands from both the father and mother combine and become a new DNA molecule which is different from the father and mother. At this point, a new life is formed. This new human life begins to grow and develop even though mother does not know it is there.
From a biblical perspective Psalm 139 verse 13 says “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” (ESV). God knows the unborn human life and designed the process by which that life develops. Verse 15 states “My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” (ESV). God sees us and knows us before we are born. In the book of Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 it says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (ESV). So not only did God know Jeremiah before he was conceived, but God also had a plan for his life.
So, the higher standard is God and not human opinion or desire. Life is of value because God holds it of value. He is Creator and the Creator of life. And His love for individual life is great. I John chapter 4 verse 10 “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us” (ESV). His love is for us, personally. Unlike the China cabinet which we hold to be of value other opinions may not have value in it. When it comes to the value of life the standard is God and no other opinions matter. This becomes a moral issue before God, a decision of right and wrong. Is the life of the baby all that matters? No! The mother’s life is just as much of value as the babies. The answer is that they both are of great value to God and loved by Him.
So, if life begins at conception and Gods holds a life to have high value, when is abortion justified? Most abortions are the result of women getting pregnant of their own free will. What about rape and incest when a pregnancy is forced on a women or girl? Is there an exception for abortion? We live in an evil world where people are killed, suffer hurt and pain which is not of their fault. These people must live with these circumstances. So, it is with rape and incest the pain is there but should not be covered up through abortion. The baby is still an individual, a life valued and loved by God.
An account of true sacrificial love. Not too long-ago we heard of a pregnant woman who was anticipating the birth of her baby. During the pregnancy it was discovered that she had cancer and needed chemotherapy for treatment. However, she was informed that the chemotherapy would harm the baby. Delaying the treatment would allow the cancer to grow and probably take her life. She could have aborted the baby, but she chose to delay the chemotherapy until the baby was born. Indeed, the baby was born healthy, but cancer took the mother’s life. Her love for the baby was greater than the value she put on her life.
The bottom line is where do we put value. Is it in ourselves or others? What do we love? There are things in this world that we love and put high value in but as with the cabinet they are not all that important. Our love must be for others because that is where God puts value, including the unborn. But it is not enough to just focus on the unborn, we must love the mother just as much. Provision must be made to help women who keep their babies. Not from the government but individuals, churches and organizations who will care for these families and help them go through life and show them love. 1st Corinthians 13:13 states “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (ESV). The greatest attribute we can have is love. Our love must be for people, in the case of abortion it is the life of the baby and mother and to not be forgotten the father as well. We must love them all.
Remember God is love and that He sent His Son to die for us. John 3 verses 16 & 17 say “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (ESV).

Article 6: In the Light of Eternity – How Then Shall We Live
By Gary Rheinheimer
Jesus said in John 14:1-3 that He will come again and in Matthew 24:4-6 He said one of the signs of His coming will be wars and rumors of wars. With the situation in the Middle East with Israel and Iran. The conflict in Ukraine, and threats from North Korea and China. The state around the world seems to be running straight towards the End Times as described in the Bible.
Christians need to be aware of what is going in the world because the return of Jesus may be soon. However, many modern-day American Christians are busy with countless things and activities where we do not take into consideration the chaos of the world in conflict. Not knowing or grasping the situations in the world. America has been blessed with a higher standard of living than most of the rest of the world. And we can take it for granted. Many Christians across the globe suffer persecution and death. They sacrifice everything to follow Christ.
However, if we have been forgiven and stand pure before the Father through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the dead how can we not be motivated from our changed hearts to be fully committed to service to our Lord. How much consideration do we have for eternity? Our lives are short. We are born, live seventy or so years and we die. That is all the time God has given us to impact people. Life is terminal and we will die. In the Light of Eternity that is a very short time.
How often do we have compassion for the people God brings into our lives who are lost and going to hell. What about brothers and sisters in Christ? Many are hurting and needing encouragement and compassion. Can we see through God’s eyes to build bridges and not walls. Are we so self-focused that we do not share the love of God through the opportunities He is laying before us. Are we open to listening to other points of view and understanding people who may not believe as we do. May we be the source of light of God’s kingdom to a hurting world.
Do we teach our children or be a blessing to those who need Jesus. Sports like football and baseball are fine but when they occupy our conversations and thoughts and interfere with our focus of Christ, they become an idol with missed opportunities for eternity.
Over the last 20 years I have had a booth at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair (Goshen, Indiana) with my Bible, Creation and Science ministry. In the process thousands of gospel booklets, tracts, and bookmarks have been passed out. With many conversations about Biblical issues.
Not everybody can contact the variety of people I do. Likewise, no one has the same contacts you have. Take your God given opportunities to bless those you meet. How are you impacting people for eternity with how you live your life? How can we live in sin and expect to impact souls? The Bible says we brought nothing into this world, and we will take nothing out (Job 1:21). The only thing we can do is send it on ahead through impacting people we encounter.
Therefore, we must conduct our lives in the Light of Eternity. Not focusing on things of this world that pass away. But on things that are eternal. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ” (ESV). We will not know the impact we have had on people until we get to heaven.
We must focus on greater effort into impacting lives with the love of Christ. For this is how we please Him. Matthew 6:20 says “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (ESV). We are not to live to receive awards from God but to give glory to God. The time may be short, we must impact people today, because Jesus commanded us to love as He did.

Article 7: The Silent Ones
By Gary Rheinheimer
Steady rain fell as the procession made its way from the house. The open hearse carrying the simple brown casket was followed by 12 black buggies. Many vans and cars closely followed on the narrow water-soaked road that led to the Musselman cemetery. Many had already arrived, were waiting as the two horses turned the hearse and casket from the road onto the path leading through the granite markers of those who have already passed through the veil of death.
The casket of Steven passed by the silent ones as it was carried to its own resting place. Which of the silent ones would, if it were possible, cry out and wail from their torment in the fire that never ceases. They were not ready for death, it came too soon, they had made the choice not to acknowledge the Creator and the gift he offers. The casket stood still amongst the stones, not too far from its own resting place where he will join the silent ones. The only voice Steven now has is the legacy of his life, his impact on his fellow mankind, and where for or against the eternal God and his Word.
As those present pass by the casket for their leave taking a family pauses for an extended moment. A middle-aged man, his wife and 6 children. Their tears and sorrow begin to flow from the man. His wife joins to morn the lose of life from this world. Among the children is a young child of less than a year. This child happily smiles and coos next to the open casket holding the body of Steven as its faces heavenward, and such is the great conflict of this world.
The vitality of life is taken by death’s destruction. The curse of sin consumes the body and seeks the same for the soul, but God the Creator provided the cure to overcome death by his own death on the cross and resurrection from the dead and offers it as a free gift. As the casket is lowered into the place prepared to receive it, the left ones watch from under umbrellas separating the rain that falls from above from the tears of sorrow beneath. With each shovel of dirt lands on the one before the ground calls back who is next? Who is next to join the silent ones

Article 8: Biblical Christianity
By Gary Rheinheimer
Biblical Christianity is not a religion it is a relationship with the Creator of the universe, Jesus Christ. Religion is based on your efforts to make you right before God in the hope of doing enough good, will balance out the sins that you have done on God’s judgement scales. For Biblical Christianity we are born sinners which far outweighs any good we could do in a lifetime. We cannot be good enough to meet God’s standard of perfection to get into heaven. This is the point: Jesus Christ being God, came to Earth, lived a perfect life, died on the cross and rose from the dead. All other religious leaders throughout history have died and their bones are still in the ground, but their souls have gone on to their eternal fate.
Jesus Christ lives today offering His death and resurrection as a gift to pay the price for our sin that we could never pay. This gift is free because of His love, grace, and mercy to anyone who comes to Him humbly, who confess and repent from their sins and who ask for the forgiveness of their sins. John 3:16 Says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (ESV)
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (ESV)
In America people are free to believe what they want. Biblical Christianity is not the law of the land, nor should it be, nor should any other religious belief, including secular humanism. This does not change the founding of the United States on Biblical truth. It does not also change Gods standard of perfection. Everyone will die and go to their eternal destiny. The question is are you ready. Do not base your future on anything but God’s standard of perfection through Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Life is terminal and you will die someday. You will stand before God as judge, make sure your sins are forgiven through the gift provided by Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. Your eternal future of heaven or hell depends on this decision.
Revelation 20:11-15 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. From his presences earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (ESV)
John 14:6 States Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (ESV)
Do not be deceived. Jesus is the only way to God and Heaven.
